Chit Chat is a neighborhood coffee and matcha café built around thoughtful sourcing, exceptional ingredients, and genuine hospitality. We believe the best cafés become part of a community, bringing people together over beautifully crafted drinks made with intention. Every drink reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, thoughtful sourcing, and creating spaces where people want to slow down, connect, and stay awhile.

We pride ourselves on serving the highest quality matcha. We source 100% first-flush, ceremonial-grade, organic matcha from a 130-year-old family-run traditional teahouse in Kagoshima, Japan.

First flush refers to the very first harvest of the year, when the youngest and most tender tea leaves are picked in early spring. These leaves are prized for their exceptional flavor, vibrant color, and naturally high concentration of antioxidants and L-theanine. The result is a matcha with a smooth, naturally sweet taste, rich umami, and a clean, balanced finish with very little bitterness.

Our matcha is hand cultivated under the guidance of a 10th-level Japanese tea master (Chashi), the highest level of tea mastery in Japan. To ensure every cup meets our standards, our blend is regularly evaluated through traditional cupping sessions with our tea partner and master tea blender, allowing for ongoing refinement and consistency.

Our organic, regeneratively grown coffee comes from Finca Churupampa in Chirinos, Peru, a specialty coffee farm and cooperative led by the Tocto brothers. Set high in the Andes, the farm is known for thoughtful land stewardship, sustainable growing practices, and a deep commitment to its local community.

Coffee grows alongside organic vegetables and tropical fruit, creating a biodiverse ecosystem that supports healthy soil and exceptional flavor. The result is a coffee that is clean, expressive, and rooted in a true sense of place.

Our coffee is third-party tested for quality and purity. Before import, each batch of green coffee is screened for pesticides and mycotoxins. After roasting, ongoing independent testing is conducted for heavy metals and mycotoxins to help ensure consistency, safety, and exceptional quality. Roasted beans are stored in temperature-controlled facilities to preserve freshness, flavor, and integrity from roast to cup.

Our coffee is chosen not only for how it tastes, but for the impact it can have beyond the cup. Through an ocean-positive partnership with SeaTrees, our coffee supports coastal ecosystem restoration, including mangrove planting and the regeneration of kelp forests, coral reefs, seagrass meadows, and healthy watersheds. It's part of a broader commitment to thoughtful sourcing, responsible stewardship, and caring for the places and communities that make exceptional coffee possible.
